Koh surin

Koh Surin is among top 5 amazing place I have been to in Thailand
The beach, the surroundings and the sealife is wonderful and the setting is incredibly peaceful, you do not get disturbed by drunken tourists or your nights sleep get intrupted by dogs, roosters or yelling and partying people at all.
Many who come to Thailand are still looking for one thing and one thing only: that idyllic, isolated, unspoilt island. I’ve been to more than a few of Southeast Asia’s pristine islands, but none have quite had the sparkle of Ko Surin.
And most of people who come to Ko surin are nature-lovers, travellers who like peace and quiet and those whose passion is snorkelling

While it lacks the creature comforts of more developed islands like koh samui or koh samet, Ko Surin, which actually consists of two islands — Ko Surin Tai (south) and Ko Surin Neua (north) — has remained a safe place for wildlife of all kinds and people like me who like peace and quiet, and is protected as part of Mu Ko Surin National Park.
It only opens 6months a year. You can only visit the island during the dry season, from November to May
and you get to stay at tents or overpriced basic bungallow, no other accomodation is available at island and there is only one restaurant with set period of time for meal a day. Not quiet comfortable for most of people.
Getting to Surin and staying there is not the cheapest and easist thing you can do in Thailand but it is worth every penny and effort.

Accomodation

With regards to the accommodation have three options: wither to stay in a huge tent provided by the national park for 300 per tent, bring your own tent and camp for 80 baht a night or stay in a basic bungallow for about 2000 bahts a night (not worth it in my opinion, they are not that great).

There are a few waterblocks with indoor and outdoor showers, local and western toilets so it is pretty convenient. Oh, and the most amazing part is that you can actually drink the water from the tap as they get it from a spring on the island.

Top Tip: try to get a tent right on the beach, there is nothing like waking up in the morning and seeing one of th world’s most beautiful beaches right in front of you. It is priceless.

Apart from a tiny village on Ko Surin Tai, the southern island is strictly off limits to anyone other than park rangers. Ko Surin Neua hosts the national park headquarters and campsites, but even here most of the island is covered in dense jungle and is only passable on foot via a rugged path, or around part of the coast during low tide.

Longtail boat is still the main means of transport around the two islands, and unlike nearby Ko Similan there is little speedboat traffic around Ko Surin. Despite a steady number of visiting tourists, Ko Surin retains a quiet, natural atmosphere. It’s the perfect place both to forget the world for a while, and to experience the nature and wildlife of the Andaman Sea firsthand.

hat yai

Hat Yai (frequently spelled Had Yai) is the largest city in southern Thailand, located near the border of Malaysia and populated by nearly 800,000 Thais. Hat Yai is located in Songkhla Province and, while not the provincial capital, is home to The Prince of Songkhla University, making it Southern Thailand’s educational center as well as the south’s heart of transportation, commerce, and tourism.

It has a number of features, tourist attractions like wat hat yai, Songkhla Lake (the largest in Thailand), an enormous reclining Buddha that visitors can walk inside, the Bhasawang Big Splash (a 15 meter long water slide), and the region’s most popular spectator sport, bullfighting.

Hat Yai is located roughly 950 km (600 miles) from Bangkok and just 30 km (18.5 miles) from the Malaysian border. Consequently it is a popular destination for visitors from Malaysia, who enjoy dining on seafood and experiencing Hat Yai’s lively nightlife.

Hat yai is not a major tourist attraction city like bkk, pattaya or phuket but as the south’s heart of transportation city
,it's worth spending few days here looking around on your way to many islands of south thailand and malaysia.

Koh lipe - Adang Sea Eco Lodge : REVIEW

Adang sea eco lodge is small accommodation (only 5 rooms ) with scuba diving center open all year long.
Nothing fancy but charmingly decorated in a small courtyard makes you feel at home.
Small terrace in front of each of 5 rooms so that you can watch well-organized garden sitting in chair. feeling breeze while reading a book or enjoy fresh cup of coffee.

There is only a very basic feature in the room.
clean bedding, mosquito nets ,and even a coffee pot makes room look simple but with certain style
that reflect owner's taste.

Bathroom with shower and toilet , it can be opened and closed with a curtain.
It has hot water but water pressure is weak so it could be little uncomfortable sometimes.

This accommodation is run by two people, one man, one woman. both from switzerland.
While i stayed there, i mostly hang out with chris, female owner.
She runs scuba diving center with two employee and she is diving instructor herself too.
She used to be middle school teacher in Switzerland for 10 years and now she settled down
at Koh lipe, in Thailand.
She is calm, friendly and good diving teacher as well.

I really enjoyed my stay in this nice, clean and friendly place.
The first quiet nights in Thailand, waking up with the sounds of birds in the morning. (Where usually my nights sleep get intrupted by dogs, roosters or yelling and partying people in bkk or pattaya.)
A real oasis of peace on a paradiselike island, only 50 meters away from a stunning beach.
You come to Koh Lipe ... This is the place you should stay.

koh rawi

dead tree that reachs out its branches into the sea

In my opnion, ko rawi is best one among many uninhabited islands near koh lipe
Koh Rawi is the large island of almost the same size as Koh Adang surrounded by many rocks, high steep cliffs, clean white sandy beach and clear sea offering quietness for relaxation. Having the forest trek at Talopalian Bay and Leuk Bay of white sand which is so-called the most prominent beach stretching at hundred meters where the National Park Ranger Unit is situated.

Many daily tour boat stop by this island for lunch break during snokling tour. because there is fresh tab water and shower facility and even small vendor only open in daytime run by locals. Considering that this is uninhabited island, it's quiet nice.

koh lipe( ko lipe )

arrived at sunrise beach by speedboat from langkawi

Koh Lipe has fantastic snorkeling right off the beaches – grab your mask, snorkel and fins, wade on in, swim 10 meters or so and you’re already over some fantastic hard coral reef. There are also tons of fantastic snorkeling sites in the archipelago which Koh Lipe is part of – numerous uninhabited islands with pristine stretches of beach and crystal clear waters teeming with marine life.
Easy access from Singapore via Langkawi makes Koh Lipe the ideal destination for you. Catch an early morning flight to Langkawi, then hop on the 930 ferry for a one-hour trip to Koh Lipe.

view from one of southern beach

Koh lipe is among top ten islands that i've been to in thailand.
There are many uninhabited islands near koh lipe which is more beautiful and clean than main island itself
These sites are easily accessed via daily organized snorkeling tours – prices range from 550 to 700 baht per person for a trip on a local longtail boat with up to 8 passengers, lunch included, usually picnic style on a beach. Alternatively you can charter an entire longtail boat for yourself (1200-1600 baht/day) and visit the sites and islands you want, on your own schedule – bring a map to show the driver or just point to the island and beach you want to stop at.
